Rob Lowe heads up The Specials, a band of 3rd rate superheroes needing to improve their image. Unfortunately, they spend more time bickering about love affairs, finances and publicity that they to catching Super Villains. However, soon their luck will change. Two of The Specials have created their own line of action figures… the superhero equivalent of the Academy Award. Tensions mount when the unveiling of their toy line makes them look utterly ridiculous. They start fighting amongst themselves and disband. This band of misfit superheroes must now decide whether to go their separate ways or reunite. They realize that whether or not the world needs The Specials, The Specials need each other in this hilarious comedy.
